Life for a homeless mother dog can be absolutely tough. And when puppies are added to the equation, everything becomes a real nightmare.
Not only do they have to worry about desperately searching for a safe haven to protect what they love most, but they often have to endure the indifference of people, and even the inclemency of real human scourges that dare to harm them.
Stephanie Brooks was walking through New Jersey, United States, when the scene of a dog with a puppy hanging from her mouth completely devastated her.
It seemed like it was a young street girl who had just given birth. Stephanie had captured the dog and kept it safe in a small area of her house, along with her other puppies.
When the rescuers arrived they found a deeply heartbreaking scene. The mother was strongly protecting her babies with her body, so getting her out of there would be a complicated task.
She was too scared and did nothing but growl, but deep down she wanted to be helped.
With the help of a trap, they finally managed to lift her out of there. But she did it carefully, making sure not to step on her babies.
The way her mother approached her rescuers made it clear to them that she was a tremendously sweet dog, and they, in turn, spoke to her telling her that they didn’t want to hurt her, and that they were there to help her.
The rescuers saw that it would be the right time to move the mother and children to their shelter, to care for them and ensure that no more lives were lost.
They had to do it by showing her puppies all the time to her mother, because otherwise she would become very anxious and desperate. Poor dear!
Already at the veterinary clinic, fortunately they confirmed that all the puppies were healthy and did not require further care.
But even though everything seemed to be going wonderfully, Jade still showed signs of indescribable anguish. And the rescuers couldn’t understand what could be happening to him.
However, later the conscience of having separated the baby from its mother weighed so heavily on him that he confessed what he had done.
The poor mother cried silently for her little one and she didn’t know how to tell her heroes that she was missing a baby. That’s how they immediately organized for Jade to be reunited with her lost baby.

After eight weeks of endless love and loving care from her rescuers, all of the puppies are now ready to be adopted.
This story could have ended terribly in many ways, but due to Stephanie’s timely call, and the neighbor coming to her senses, Jade was once again as happy as she could be with the baby she cried so much for. Dog moms are wonderful, if only they could talk!
