One sunny afternoon in the heart of the jungle, a greedy wild elephant was on the hunt for his next sweet fix. He had a craving for sugarcane and knew just where to find it.
As he made his way through the lush foliage, he noticed a group of trucks passing by, each one carrying loads of sugarcane. Without a second thought, the elephant ran out onto the road, hoping to snatch a few pieces of the sweet treat.
But as he approached the trucks, he saw something that made him stop in his tracks. A small family of monkeys was already busy raiding the sugarcane, picking through the piles and munching on the juicy stalks.
Feeling a pang of guilt, the elephant realized that he couldn’t just barge in and take the sugarcane for himself. So instead, he decided to wait patiently by the side of the road, watching as the monkeys played and ate to their hearts’ content.
After a while, the monkeys grew tired and wandered off, leaving behind a few scattered pieces of sugarcane. And that’s when the elephant made his move. He carefully approached the pile of sugarcane and gingerly picked up a stalk, savoring the sweet taste as he chewed.
But even as he enjoyed his treat, the elephant couldn’t help but feel grateful for the small family of monkeys who had come before him. He knew that without them, he wouldn’t have been able to enjoy the sugarcane in the first place.
And with that thought in mind, the elephant continued on his journey through the jungle, feeling a little lighter and a little happier than before.
