Some people believe that when it comes to dogs, it is enough to have them at home to offer them the life they deserve.
Sometimes, we tend to think that a guard dog is just a creature that is there, outdoors, receiving the minimum in terms of water and food, tied up without mercy, ignored by everyone, because possibly the affection of a human will make it friendly and diminish its ferocity.
So we can see that you don’t need to be confined, much less receive mistreatment from humans, for a little animal to decide, with loyalty, courage and bravery, to take care of its own.
The story we present to you today shows us the harsh reality of Libre, a dog who, like many others, lived in the most deplorable conditions possible, tied to a chain that didn’t even allow him to rest his head on the ground.
Concerned neighbors approached the police and animal rescues, and one day, luckily, his rescuers appeared. People in the community saw the dog’s thinness, his misery, and that he was chained 24 hours a day, every day of the week.
The dog was fed as soon as possible and the heavy chain was removed from around his neck. He had marks and injuries from the constant, irritating rubbing of the metal.
Now free of his chain, Libre is receiving the proper care he needs to recover and go into the future as happy and healthy as a normal dog! He will never have to know that pain and neglect again, and it is a beautiful thing.
