The British press reported that Man City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne is “closer than ever” to signing a contract with San Diego Club, a rookie in the US Professional League (MLS).

Remember when interviewed after Man City’s victory over West Ham , the Belgian midfielder refused to mention the contract with Man City. Accordingly, De Bruyne shared: “I don’t want to talk about the future with the team because right now my priority is to regain my form. I feel like I’m getting better every week. Now I’m strong enough.” 90 minutes. I have had an unpleasant past few months, due to various injuries.”

Apparently, the 33-year-old Belgian star is mentally prepared and “not worried” if City refuses to extend the contract after the contract between the two sides ends this summer. De Bruyne himself probably really wants to go to the American Professional League (MLS) to play for the rest of his career with a high salary.

San Diego FC wants to recruit De Bruyne right in this winter transfer window. The team is said to have had discussions with the former Chelsea player about joining the team before the 2025 MLS season kicks off in February 2025.

Will Man City accept losing De Bruyne this January?
Accordingly, San Diego FC is ready to make an official offer this month. They accepted to pay a transfer fee to sign De Bruyne immediately, instead of picking him up for free next summer. Everything so far seems to be going smoothly and the British press also reported that De Bruyne is now very close to signing a contract with San Diego Club.

San Diego FC is the newest team to join MLS. They are in the process of building a squad and already have midfielder Juan Mata in the group of largest shareholders. The club also signed contracts with many prominent factors such as Hirving Lozano, former Napoli striker, and Paddy McNair, former Manchester United player. San Diego FC wants De Bruyne to become the club’s key player next season.

San Diego FC’s first match will be against defending MLS Cup champion LA Galaxy on February 23. They will then have their first match at Snapdragon’s home field against rival St.Louis City on March 1.
