Brahim Diaz – 9
Diaz ensured that Jude Bellingham’s presence wasn’t missed. He was a proactive figure, troubling the visitors with his clever movement. Scored a beautiful goal by duping many players with his right-footed strike. Diaz was also defensively superb, making three tackles, four interceptions and six possession recoveries.
Fede Valverde – 8.5
Despite not being at his 100%, Valverde still produced a warrior’s performance. He completely neutralized Atleti’s threat through his side, almost always getting into the best areas to stop them. He made four interceptions and five recoveries, while also getting a nice assist for Rodrygo’s goal.
Rodrygo – 8.5
The Brazilian winger fired up the game with a fantastic early strike, getting past Javi Galan with ease before putting it into the back of the net. Unlucky not to get a penalty after that, and worked hard all game long despite losing his creative threat later in the second half.
Aurelien Tchouameni – 8
Tchouameni was energetic and efficient in midfield, covering a lot of ground to make things happen. He made three interceptions nd seven possession recoveries, also helping move the ball with 86 passes and creating two chances.
Ferland Mendy – 7.5
Mendy was a powerhouse on the left flank, making a lot of important runs and being defensively stable. He made three recoveries and won two duels. The Frenchman was inspiring going forward, creating two chances and grabbing the assist for Brahim’s goal.
Kylian Mbappe – 5
Mbappe had a frustrating outing. He created a few chances late on, but failed to move into goal-scoring areas or be clinical with his fishing. Lost 5/7 duels and lacked the spark to trouble the defenders.
Eduardo Camavinga – 4.5
Camavinga struggled to provide Real Madrid that added defensive security. HE lost 4/6 ground duels, made just one tackle and was totally outwitted for Alvarez’s goal. Couldn’t really move the ball forward well either.
