The Misaytif family, enduring the hardships of living in a relative’s tent within the refugee camps of Idlib, where civilians sought shelter from the attacks by the Assad regime in Syria, desperately awaits assistance for their 14-month-old child, Muhammed, who was born without limbs.
Baby Muhammed, who cannot play with his peers because he is born with no legs and arms, spends most of the day with his cat. Halit Misaytif, the father of little Muhammed, said in a statement that his son was born without arms and legs.
Misaytif expressed, “Muhammed needs constant attention and care. He needs to be held constantly. We are living here in the camp. We cannot protect him from the heat in the summer and the cold.”
“After being injured in the leg due to the attacks of the Assad regime, I cannot find work. I struggle to find my child’s milk. The prices of medications are much higher than before. I hope Muhammed can continue his life like other children,” he added.
Misaytif emphasized that Muhammed cannot meet his daily needs without support due to his lack of hands and feet. He said, “We struggle to obtain his milk, medications, and diapers. Hopefully, in the future, he will be able to leave the country, get prosthetics, and lead a happy life like other children. My only wish is to provide Muhammed with a happy life.”
