Awesome! A Large Eagle Appears To Catch A Shark Before Proceeding To Fly Along The Beach With It Grasped In Its Talons?!

A video has surfaced of what many people to be a large eagle grasping a shark in its claws as it flies over Myrtle Beach.

Needless to say, the video went viral, capturing the attention of many social media users. Just seconds into the video the fish can be seen wriggling in its claws, seeking escape from the grasp of the bird as it flies over the beach, keeping control of its prey.

Thousands of people have been sharing the 25-second video on WattsApp, and Twitter with various ideas on what is exactly happening. Some think they see an eagle carrying a baby shark, others think it’s a condo. Some even say the bird is carrying an eleven-foot shark!

India Today Anti Fake News War Room (AFWA) has found the viral claims calling the bird an eagle or a condor and the fish a shark are misleading.

It was an osprey, also known as sea hawk, flying with a large Spanish mackerel in its claws.

Footage shot by Tennessee native Ashley White from the 17th floor of an apartment building where she was staying on vacation shows the fish wriggling around trying to escape capture as the bird carries it high above the beach.

The bird had grabbed the fish with its talons on June 22. Osprey birds are, according to the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources, “locally known as fish hawks or fish eagles.” So what do you think, did they get it right is this bird an Osprey?
