This is the captivating story of Olomunyak, or little Ollie, an orphan found abandoned and surviving on his own in the wild, until he was rescued.
It was presumed that the calf’s mother was one of the deceased. What was astonishing is how the little calf attempting to survive, had latched on to the company of a large bull elephant. Surprisingly, the bull took care of the calf briefly until he left, leaving the calf on its own.
Recognizing the calf’s dire situation, a rescue operation was orchestrated. Because it was too late for a rescue, the rangers guarded Olomunyak overnight, protecting him from the lurking dangers of the wild, showcasing the dedication and bravery of these conservation heroes.
Olomunyak’s story is not just one of survival but of resilience and hope. At the Nairobi Nursery, he found more than just safety; he found a new family and a permanent home.
