For animal lovers, a dog is more than a pet, it is a member of the family and when they get lost or something bad happens to them, they feel great sorrow, their humans do whatever is necessary to find them, and they always keep the hope of having them again no matter how much time passes.
Giorgi Bereziani is a 62-year-old man who lives with his family in Tbilisi, Georgia. He spent his days happily with his mixed-breed dog named Jorge. But one day his canine companion disappeared. Anxiety and worry overwhelmed the good human who began to look for him everywhere.
As time went by, the man’s grief grew, and from that moment on it became a habit to place posters, notices and all kinds of missing person messages on the streets.
Nothing seemed to work, everyone at home missed the little animal. Coming home was no longer the same without hearing the dog’s barking of joy and his constant displays of affection, to which everyone was accustomed.
Suddenly, and when he least expected it, Giorgi received a phone call from the workers at the city’s opera house. The men claimed to have seen a dog in the building that looked very similar to the one they had declared missing.
“Jorge, is that you?” Giorgi asked, holding his breath.
The dog, recognizing the familiar voice, turned his face with some doubt, but as he came closer he could see that it was his human. He had no doubt, it was his beloved Giorgi who had come for him.
The faithful pet began to wag his tail happily, crying with joy like a little child who has gotten lost and has just seen his father.
“We searched for three years. Then we found it,” Giorgi added, very happy and excited.
The dog had a yellow tag on his ear, an identification that city animal control personnel place on stray dogs and animals they encounter after they have been vaccinated, spayed or neutered. Jorge may have had such a procedure performed and been released.
Giorgi had recorded the ineffable and emotional moment from the beginning, and later shared it on his social networks. Jorge climbed into the back of the car and when he arrived home he excitedly rushed towards his family members who were equally happy about the reunion.
Without a doubt, the best moments in life are spent with a pet, whose love is unconditional and eternal.
