After 600 Days of Waiting, Shelter Dog Gets a Limo Ride to His Forever Home, Finally Embraced with Love

Chester’s ordeal began when he was found by animal control officers chained up in an abandoned house and malnourished in Euclid, Ohio.

According to the kennel manager, the house was filthy, and it looked like “a horror story.”

Once freed, it was discovered Chester, a pitbull, was suffering from malnourishment and had heartworm and mange, so he was taken to Euclid Animal Shelter, where staff worked to nurse him back to health.

And Chester’s new owner, Lauren Reitsman, told USA Today that she was immediately drawn to the dog’s friendly personality.

“I always root for the underdog,” Lauren said. He’s got that big smile and those big floppy ears. He’s just got the greatest disposition.”

So when it came time to take Chester home, she decided to make sure it happened in style – with a limo.

The pair are now settled at Lauren’s home.

Lauren also said she hopes Chester’s story will help to raise awareness about negative stereotypes surrounding pit bulls.
