Affection for animals is so closely linked to good character that it can be said that anyone who is cruel to them is not a good person. Anyone who has interacted with a pet knows perfectly well that these creatures only know affection, and that they seek nothing more than to receive it back.
The little animal was found by a woman who was walking through a park in Corby, in the United Kingdom, on the verge of collapse on the bank of the local river. Being an animal lover, the walker approached to see if the furry one was in good condition, but what she saw broke her heart.
There was Alexis, scared, starving, exhausted and with a face of deep sadness and defeat, as if she had just fought a great battle. In addition, she had a large tumor in her breasts and was dangerously malnourished, so the woman decided to call the authorities immediately. It seemed that she did not have much time left.
Inside the suitcase, signs of a struggle, scratches and bite marks could be seen. Someone had also placed several bricks so that whatever was in there wouldn’t survive.
“It’s clear that someone tried to get rid of this dog in the most brutal way possible,” Bennett said.
When the rescuers arrived, they immediately put her in a vehicle and took her to the vet, who was able to learn her name through her chip, while other officers stayed behind to try to clarify the motive of the events.
“It seems a huge coincidence to find the dog wet and then find a suitcase with bricks in it nearby, so we think she was dumped in the water in this way.
At this stage we are not sure why the spade was there unless there was a plan to bury the suitcase,” added Ann Bennett.
Alexis is such a friendly dog that authorities are eager to find the person who was capable of doing something so horrible and bring justice to her.
