Hundreds of thousands of companion animals are found and removed from the streets. These are truly alarming figures, demonstrating that this scourge is still far from extinction and continues to be a structural problem in our societies.
Such is the case of Pax, a furry animal who didn’t live up to his name when he was found seriously ill on the border between Mexico and the United States. He had to overcome great difficulties; he was hungry and injured, and urgently needed rapid medical intervention to save his life.
He must have spent a long time suffering and wandering aimlessly in those conditions, until, fortunately, he was spotted by a man who kept several dogs at his residence , and who lived on the American side of the border.
However, there wasn’t much more he could do for the puppy other than provide temporary shelter. The puppy needed prompt medical care and the security of a home, or else he would inevitably perish.
Once they arrived at the site, they proceeded to videotape their entire rescue and subsequent recovery process for Pax, the name they eventually gave him at the shelter.
It was through the offering of rich food that these people managed to draw Pax away from his canine friends, and persuade him to approach them without fear.
