Leesa is a beautiful pitbull who lived on the streets of Los Angeles in a terrible state of health. The poor thing had several tumors that caused her a lot of pain and she didn’t dare to approach any human..
She spent hours hiding in a restaurant parking lot. Every time someone approached, she would run away at top speed to hide under a car. One day, one of her tumors worsened and began to bleed.
Fortunately, someone realized the seriousness of the matter and contacted Hope for Paws rescuers. Eldad Hagar, the founder of Hope for Paws, rushed to the scene. He knew the dog was bleeding and there was no time to waste.
He only made a quick stop to buy a burger so he could bring some food to the pitbull. When he saw her, his heart broke. The poor thing was in bad shape but she didn’t let Eldad get close to her.
He hid under a car, so the rescuer had to be patient. It was all a matter of gaining his trust, so Eldad sat down a few inches away and spoke to him softly.
Half an hour later, the beautiful pitbull already trusted him and seemed extremely grateful for having received food. Finally, she approached her rescuer and surprised him with the best kiss. Leesa had understood that Eldad had come to help her.
Eldad took Leesa to a vet where she underwent a series of tests. She had a couple of mammary tumors that were immediately removed.
She also had strange growths on her head and back, and she had another operation some time later to make sure she was completely tumor-free.
Her recovery was a difficult process, but the cute pitbull had a temporary home where she was helped with her injuries 24 hours a day.
