Ingo is a charming Belgian Shepherd belonging to the police dog lineage. He lives in Germany with his owner, Tanja Brandt, a photographer who has combined her two passions for years: animals and photography.
In addition to Ingo, Tanja has other Belgian Shepherds and also rehabilitated birds of prey such as falcons and owls.
One of her owls is a sweet little owl named Napoleon, she affectionately calls him “Poldi” as a diminutive of his name. He was the last to be born in a litter, he was the smallest and needed the most attention.
They soon realised that this creature would have no chance of surviving in the wild on its own and required a safe environment.
Ingo’s instincts quickly realised how vulnerable Poldi was and he adopted him, becoming his protector and best friend.
Poldi has grown and is stronger, he no longer needs the same protection, however, this little one seems not to know how to live free and takes shelter with Ingo’s love.
Their relationship has united them in an incredible way, transforming them into a beautiful and unconditional friendship.
Aunque Ingo es más fuerte y protector, Poldi también se encarga de su compañero, ambos se cuidan, “se respetan y parecen entenderse entre sí”, dice Tanja.
For years Tanja has captured splendid photographs of animals and wildlife, but evidently the images speak for themselves in expressing the bond that unites this wonderful and unlikely couple.
They try to spend as much time together as possible.
Sometimes they go out for a walk…
Other times they cuddle up. They’re adorable!
Poldi has a warm place to sleep
Each one enjoys the company of the other and knows how to live happily.
It’s amazing how such different animals can become the best of friends.
His photos make thousands of people fall in love
They are a delight for the soul
Their gaze says it all. They transmit pure love!
There are many reasons to celebrate that friendship can exist despite differences.
The unique relationships between animals like Ingo and Poldi serve as an example for people to overcome the prejudices that often prevent them from getting to know others and discovering a beautiful friendship. This beautiful story is well worth enjoying and sharing!
