The protagonist of this case is a dog, but more so, a true warrior. His name is Billy, and he probably wouldn’t have survived alone for long. When Billy was spotted by a couple while walking past their house, he was still struggling to survive.
The man, worried, shouted to his wife to come closer and look. That’s when the woman told him what it was about.
The couple acted quickly and immediately contacted a rescue group that arrived to search the nearby forest for the emaciated white dog, more like a bag of bones, due to the pitiful state of dehydration and malnutrition in which it was found.
Once under medical observation, Krista and Bill stayed to keep the furry friend company. Krista fell in love with Billy instantly, the look in his eyes, the pain he felt, everything that made him continue to fight, connected her to him for life.
He began to move around more easily, the only drawback being that his medical bills were piling up. The couple was overwhelmed. That’s when they decided to create the Saving Billy campaign to raise donations and the community response was immediate.
