A Russian scientist predicted a pretty terrifying future for humanity that is “even worse than extinction.” In addition, he warned that we have the risk of eradicating other forms of life in the universe.
Alexander Berezin , a renowned scientist at the Russian National Research University of Electronic Technology, warned that humanity will be the first to enter and the last to leave the Universe .
This is because it will subconsciously destroy all other forms of life. A terrible future for humanity.
A future worse than extinction
In an article titled “First In, Last Out: A Solution to the Fermi Paradox,” Berezin expanded on Enrico Fermi ‘s controversial theory . This suggests that the universe is so large that it is virtually undisputed that extraterrestrial life forms exist .
But, in response to critics who argue that humans have never had contact with other life forms, Berezin said:
“The specific nature of the civilizations that arise at the interstellar level should not matter.
They could be biological organisms like us, rogue AIs that rebelled against their creators, or planetary-scale distributed minds like those described by Stanislaw Lem in Solaris.”
So the only explanation for the Fermi Paradox is the invocation of the anthropic principle; we will be the first to reach the interstellar stage and, most likely, we will be the last to leave.
The scientist suggests that other forms of life may not have reached the level of development necessary for interstellar communication, space travel or simply to be captured.
Thus, Berenzin predicts a rather bleak future for the universe, when interstellar travel becomes a reality:
“What if the first life to reach interstellar travel capability necessarily eradicates all competition to fuel its own expansion?”
an unconscious destruction
The expert pointed out that the potential future destruction of life forms would not necessarily be made conscious.
In fact, he compares it to a construction crew tearing down an anthill to build a property; It doesn’t do it on purpose. In fact, he doesn’t even know the anthill is there.
Among the systems that could cause this destruction are unrestricted AIs :
“A rogue AI can potentially populate the entire supercluster with copies of itself, turning every solar system into a supercomputer, and it doesn’t make sense to ask why it would.”
It is possible that humanity will become the only surviving civilization in the universe, through its own fault. A scenario that has been little evaluated, but could be a disastrous reality.
World One: computer program that predicts the beginning of the Apocalypse in 2020
In 1973, a computer program was developed at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology to calculate global sustainability. Instead, he predicted that 2020 would be the beginning of the end of civilization, culminating in 2040. Check out the video below:
