Great! Baby Elephant’s Unstoppable Affection for Visitor Captured on Camera

A heartwarming bond can form between humans and animals through the simple act of cuddling.

Two-month-old Tara, an Asian elephant calf (Elephas Maximus) at Patara Elephant Farm, is a testament to that, as she eagerly showers her affection on human visitors.

Located in Chiang Mai, Patara Elephant Farm is dedicated to the care and well-being of these gentle giants, providing a sanctuary where they can live free from harm.

Vivian H. uploaded a delightful video of her visit to the farm, where she and a man named Arthur participated in the “Elephant Owner for a Day” program.

This unique experience teaches visitors about caring for, grooming, feeding, and even riding elephants.

Unlike other elephant parks, Patara prioritizes these endangered species’ health and breeding management, with tourism coming second.

The program also aids the recovery process for elephants injured by landmines. Arthur and Vivian had the chance to fully immerse themselves in the daily care of these magnificent animals, making their encounter with little Tara even more rewarding.

In the video, Tara enthusiastically responds to Arthur’s calls, approaching him for an embrace and playfully tackling him to the ground.

Weighing between 200-260 pounds, baby elephants like Tara can be quite a handful. However, Arthur seems to enjoy the interaction, even when she pins him down multiple times with her weight.

Surprisingly, Tara’s mother appears unconcerned with the humans playing with her calf. This is a testament to the dedication and hard work of the Patara Elephant Farm staff, who foster a nurturing environment for these creatures.

Such friendships with these majestic animals are rare, making this encounter an unforgettable experience for Tara and her new human friends.
