She was rushed to Meilian Zhonghe Veterinary Hospital , where she received medical attention and, after being examined , underwent surgery to amputate her hind legs.

Doctors discovered that Shi was pregnant, but miraculously her pregnancy was not at risk.
This little dog never gave up. After several weeks in care, Shi gave birth, but a new difficult phase was about to begin for her. Of her four puppies, two died of distemper, and the third was born in a very serious condition.
The fourth puppy was the only completely healthy one and will be adopted by a family in Norway.

Dr. Xue, a veterinarian at Meilian Zhonghe Veterinary Hospital, expressed his amazement at this dog’s dedication to caring for her puppies.

“Even with all the difficulties, Shi is a great mother,” said Dr. Xue.
The rescuers posted on their Facebook account that they asked authorities to begin an investigation to identify the dog’s former owner.
The third puppy will travel to Canada where it will receive treatment and, once recovered, will be adopted.

What a tough time this little dog must have had finding herself on the street, alone, defenseless, without food or water, abandoned in the middle of nowhere and with no way back home.
