On Monday night, we removed this meter long+- Mozambique Spitting Cobra from a home office, in the Paradise Valley area.
The family luckily saw the snake coming in, rather than stumbling upon it at close quarters. They stood back, and watched it until we arrived.
Watching the snake, monitoring where it goes, is so important in helping us help you.

The cobra was hiding in a corner under a cabinet, and made for an easy catch.
We left our JETBeam South Africa torches on the ground, lighting up the area nicely, and Carla put an African Snakebite Institute capture tube on the floor, right up against the cobra.
She then simply gently coaxed it into the tube, with her ASI tong, and it calmly slithered in.
A quick, easy and uneventful catch

We are starting a new research project on Mozambique Spitting Cobras, which I’ll share more about in future,.where we collect some data off it, and a very small tissue sample.
So please keep us in mind if you encounter one you need removed, or if you find a freshly killed one.
Thanks to the kind family for calling and for watching the snake!
