Bryan Braman, a beloved Super Bowl champion and former NFL linebacker, passed away on Thursday at the age of 38 after a courageous battle with a rare and aggressive form of cancer. In his final two weeks, Braman chose to spend every precious moment with his two daughters, ages 11 and 8, creating memories that will forever define his legacy as a devoted father and a fierce warrior both on and off the football field.

Diagnosed in February, Braman underwent an intensive 12-week treatment regimen in Seattle, enduring multiple surgeries in a valiant effort to combat the disease. Despite the grueling medical journey, his spirit remained unbroken, and his focus never wavered from the people who mattered most—his two young daughters. “He loved his two girls so, so much. They were everything, his legacy,” said Sean Stellato, Braman’s agent and close friend, in an emotional interview with PEOPLE.

Braman’s life was a testament to resilience and heart. Known as a relentless competitor on the field, he embodied the spirit of the underdog, fighting his way into the NFL through sheer determination and grit. “I would say, a warrior in every sense, on the field and in life,” Stellato shared. “He faced every battle with unshakable grit and heart. And his passing really leaves a void, not only in the football community, but in the spirit of every underdog who ever had to fight to play this game of football.”

One of the most poignant memories Stellato holds is from the night Braman and the Philadelphia Eagles won Super Bowl LII. “Him and I cried in each other’s arms when he won the Super Bowl on the field. And I was holding his daughter in a photo, which was really cool,” Stellato recalled, his voice heavy with emotion. That moment, with one of Braman’s daughters in his arms, captured the essence of a man whose greatest victories were not just in football but in fatherhood.
Off the field, Braman was a gentle giant, known for his genuine kindness and passion for giving back to others. On the field, he was a force of nature, a “Tarzan” whose intensity inspired teammates and fans alike. “I just want people to remember him as someone that was a staple for the underdog, but just so passionate in this game and giving back to people,” Stellato said.
As news of Braman’s passing spreads, tributes have poured in, celebrating a man who lived with purpose and left an indelible mark on those who knew him. His fight against cancer, much like his career, was defined by courage and an unwavering commitment to those he loved. In his final days, surrounded by his daughters, Braman’s legacy as a father, a fighter, and a champion shines brighter than ever.
