We found her alone—chained to a tree deep in the woods, her eyes heavy with pain and confusion. Once a logging elephant, she spent her short life hauling massive timber through unforgiving terrain. The harness, worn for years without care, carved deep wounds into her side, forming a painful mass that left her unfit to work.
Her “retirement” came not with compassion, but with abandonment. Instead of care, her owner left her in the forest, tied tightly to a tree—no food, no water, no company. She stands there day and night, swaying in silence, her body broken and her spirit fading.
