The bonds that can form between a puppy and its human are stronger than those of any other species, not to mention the loyalty that characterizes them .
Jacob is a mixed-breed dog who, as a child, roamed the streets of the Olivares neighborhood in the municipality of Hermosillo, in the state of Sonora.
A man who worked as a security guard adopted him as a puppy and took care of him every day.
The little dog only had the man in this life and he loved him with all the strength of his heart.
The relationship between the two was filled with much love, the little dog spent practically his entire life with the good man .
The dog ‘s loyalty was extraordinary; he accompanied him to work every day and waited for him when he left to go home together.
What more could the little animal ask for? He had a beautiful home, a family that showered him with love and care…
But one fateful night, when the guard was leaving his duties, he came across two people who were arguing, and when he tried to separate them, he was mortally wounded.
The puppy suddenly lost his best friend and was devastated.
A year and a half has passed since then , but Jacob still waits for his dear friend every night, hoping to see him again .
Every day he sits on the sidewalk and stares at the door of the shop where his human worked. When night falls, and fatigue overcomes him, he lies down and falls asleep.
Thus all his days pass, and the infinite sadness he feels is reflected on his face and in his already aged body.
A neighbor of the area, named Heydi Rivera , has realized what the animal is experiencing , and began to investigate the causes that make it live that way.
Heydi is a dog lover and does her best to save them from the streets.
He was moved to learn of the sad events that the faithful little dog had to live through .
Jacob was called the Hachiko of Sonora , due to the similarity of his case with what happened to the well-known Japanese dog , who for nine long years waited for his deceased human , at the train station where they always met after work .
“Jacob waits for his master outside his workplace every night, as if hoping to see him leave and return home together. When he sees that his master never comes out, he retreats and takes refuge on the sidewalk of a house,” Heydi commented .
The woman is very worried about the life the lonely little animal is leading. He’s not having a good time, living off the care that some people can occasionally provide , and the risk he faces on the streets is very high.
“He was already run over in the street and treated at the vet. I can feed him, and the owners of the house also offer him leftovers from their meals, but that’s not enough. He needs a family, a home where he can spend his final years feeling loved,” the woman added .

Heydi and several neighbors are doing everything they can to find a family to adopt him. But Jacob is still waiting for his beloved human, whose unwavering loyalty will soon be rewarded.
The loyalty of dogs knows no bounds. We sincerely hope this little dog finds a family to whom he can give all his love. His owner will surely watch over him from heaven.
