A caring resident of the city of Elche, Alicante, Spain, rescued a mastiff dog on the verge of collapse , and his story has the entire country in suspense.
His body, weighing barely 18 kilograms, suffers not only from malnutrition, but also from a painful abscess in one ear and on his face, areas where worms are believed to have harbored due to the infection.
Fortunately, the man who rescued him decided to take him to Hondon de las Nieves and later contacted Huellas Salvadas, the Elche Animal Protection Association.

Specialists are doing everything they can to save his life, but the truth is that much of the work falls to this warrior, whose name was conceived in honor of the legendary Norse king, Ragnar Lodbrok.

Ragnar has been released from critical condition but remains in the veterinary center under 24-hour supervision, which entails more expenses. He also underwent a CT scan today, but people’s hearts are not limited, and donations have begun to arrive.

As reported today, “Ragnar has been calmer, and we didn’t need to put him to sleep for his scan.” It seems this little boy has learned to recognize that those around him are only trying to help him and that his life of terror is over.
For now, doctors must perform a biopsy, as in addition to the infection, the puppy has a mass of cells in his head, and they must rule out any tumors. Based on the results, doctors will determine the next step, and while this is happening, the call is to cooperate as much as possible with Ragnar.
