Images of a puppy in a home’s backyard during a heavy downpour have moved everyone on social media and sparked not only outrage, but also a strong wave of criticism against the person “responsible” for the creature.
The owners of the dog, who appears to be a pit bull, may have forgotten to bring him inside so he could get some shelter from the weather. But, however accidental this may have been, it’s something no creature should be exposed to.
The recording of a few seconds was published by Facebook user Jaime Posada Carnoa, with the intention of raising awareness among the dog’s owner and in turn reminding all his friends that this should not be done.
The dog is standing on two legs on some blocks in a desperate attempt to get some cover from the rain, but it was obviously impossible. The animal cries next to the window of the house, as if waiting for its owner to pay attention, but at least in the recording, no one appears to come to its rescue.
The situation is truly unfortunate but quite common, which is why we encourage you to take action when you witness this type of negligence. Although Jaime’s intention was to report it, it’s unclear whether he actually acted to rescue the furry friend.
Sometimes, not only is reporting negligence on social media helpful, but it’s also important that YOU, as a witness to any abuse, can take action and be that helping hand and voice for that furry friend at that moment.
