Real Madrid forward Rodrygo Goes faces an uncertain future at the club amid ongoing contract talks. Although Los Blancos are keen to extend the Brazilian’s deal until 2030, the 24-year-old has yet to decide if he wants to continue at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Rodrygo, who is currently under contract until 2028, has not played for Real Madrid in the final month of the season. This lack of game time has caused frustration for the forward, who is reportedly seeking clarity on his role within the squad. According to Football Espana, Rodrygo wants to hold discussions with new manager Xabi Alonso before committing his future to the club.

Real Madrid view Rodrygo as a key part of their long-term plans, which explains their desire to secure his services for an additional two years. However, contract negotiations have encountered some difficulties, and no agreement has yet been reached

Alongside interest from Real Madrid, Ligue 1 side Paris Saint-Germain has also been linked with the attacker, despite the French club’s recent signings of Khvicha Kavaratskhelia, Desire Doue, and Bradley Barcola. Meanwhile, Premier League clubs such as Arsenal, Liverpool, and Manchester City remain potential destinations if Rodrygo decides to leave Spain.
Xabi Alonso, who recently took charge at Real Madrid, has remained non-committal regarding his tactical approach and the futures of individual players. On Rodrygo specifically, Alonso said during his first press conference: “I would have to have a conversation,” adding that the forward “would be important, like everyone.”
Rodrygo’s next move is expected to depend largely on the outcome of talks with Alonso and whether he receives assurances about his role at the club going forward.
