Ben and Jerry were found by a Good Samaritan. Horrified by the sight of their red, inflamed skin, skinny frames, and blood-soaked fur, this kind stranger called the local the municipal shelter. However, the shelter had no funds to afford their care. If they took them in, they knew these poor dogs would be euthanized almost immediately.
The shelter called us, desperate to save these babies. Despite drowning in vet bills, we said yes. We rushed to the last place they had been spotted and safely got them secured in our vehicle. They were exhausted. They had hardly any fight left inside.
Ben and Jerry need URGENT bloodwork, testing, wound care, antibiotics, pain relief…they need everything.
But the clinic won’t proceed until we pay. They are giving us two days—that’s it. If we don’t have the funds by then, they will be euthanized.
