An abandoned dog who didn’t even have the strength to stand up was waiting for someone to approach him and offer him the help he so desperately needed.
When he approached the dog, he noticed that both of her hind legs were swollen and bent, and one of her front legs was also in poor condition.
Apparently, the dog had been there for two days or more, and the noble man who found her didn’t hesitate to ask for help from the Stray Rescue of St. Louis animal shelter to rescue her and provide her with medical attention.
The little dog felt comforted; finally, after so much time, someone had taken pity on her suffering. The poor thing couldn’t walk on her own to seek help; if no one cared, she’d simply be there in deplorable conditions, suffering without any relief.
Although she had seen the worst side of humanity, she trusted the people who rescued her , feeling that they genuinely cared about her pain.
The damage she had suffered was very severe, she needed to undergo a surgical procedure to recover from her injuries.
Her rescuers launched a fundraising campaign to raise the money needed to pay for her treatment because they didn’t have enough money. Her medical expenses had totaled $7,000 at that point.
They named the dog Polar Express; the poor thing had a long road ahead of her to recover. But the most important thing is that she’s being well cared for by veterinarians willing to do everything possible to ensure her health, and also by loving rescuers who offer comfort and protection.
There’s no justification for abandoning a dog like they did with Polar. The poor thing was left to fend for itself in a place where other pets are also left behind like a bag of garbage.
We can never make enough of an effort to speak out for animal rights and raise awareness about the importance of making the commitment to protect them until their dying day.
