Real Madrid’s 3–4 loss to Barcelona on Sunday has sparked widespread criticism, with several players singled out for underwhelming performances.

Among the most outspoken was Alvaro Benito — a former Madrid midfielder and current Cadena SER commentator — who was particularly critical of Vinicius Junior, despite the Brazilian recording two assists.

“The way Vinicius plays is a disgrace. Take him off, just take him off.

“The next coach has a lot of work to do. You can’t play football like this: defending with your eyes, skipping recovery runs, not marking, not pressing.”
