Kylian Mbappé, French player for Real Madrid, is having a nightmare season with his team. No Champions League, no Copa del Rey, and all signs point to them losing La Liga as well, as they are four points behind Barcelona with six games to go.

Real Madrid could end the season without a single title after winning La Liga and the Champions Leaguelast season. There is still the FIFA Club World Cup to come this summer, but things are not looking good for the team from the Spanish capital.
However, Kylian Mbappé has stepped up to the plate and, as far as is possible, has performed well on an individual level, as evidenced by his goalscoring record.
In the Copa del Rey final defeat to Barcelona, the Frenchman scored his first career goal from a free-kick. It was a poor effort, but it added to his goal tally in his first season as a Real Madrid player, a tally that is the envy of many.

Mbappé is Real Madrid’s top scorer this season, ahead of teammates Vinicius Jr, Rodrygo and Bellingham. Not only that, but he has already surpassed CR7.
In his first year with Real Madrid,Mbappé has already surpassed Cristiano Ronaldo in goals scored in his debut season. While Ronaldo scored 33 goals in his debut season, Mbappé has already reached 34 with a month to go. It took Ronaldo 35 games to reach that mark, while it took the Frenchman 51.
Ronaldo had held the record since his debut in 2009. However, Kylian broke that record by joining Madrid after leaving Paris.
Kylian is three goals away from equalling Iván Zamorano‘s 37 goals in his debut season with Madrid.
No trophies; goodbye to the Ballon d’Or?
Despite a goal-filled season with Real Madrid,Kylian Mbappé‘s future with the Ballon d’Or seems unlikely. With the Champions League still to be played, Raphinha, Lamine Yamal and Ousmane Dembele look like the three contenders for the most prestigious individual award.
Let’s not forget that not only does Mbappé have no titles to his name, his start has been shaky at best, and his exit from the Champions League has had a major impact on his career. Only a FIFA Club World Cup could help him remain a contender, but Madrid are not having the best of times, so we will have to wait and see what happens in the Champions League.
