‘That’s crazy’: Real Madrid criticize Vinicius for demanding incredible wages to extend contract
Earlier this week, it was reported that Vinicius Jr. has reached an agreement with Real Madrid to renew his contract for two more years.
The Athletic strongly deny such rumours.
Recall that in October 2023, Real Madrid handed Vincius a bumper new contract keeping him at the club until the summer of 2027.
That deal was worth around €20 million gross per season.
However, Vini’s performances since then have improved massively, and in 2024, he came mighty close to winning the Ballon d’Or. Most pundits insisted he should’ve won it ahead of Rodri.

Vini’s rise to superstardom has attracted the interest of Saudi deep pockets, who are reportedly prepared to hand him a blank check.
The feeling is that Vini wants to stay at Real Madrid. But at a price, according to The Athletic.
The reputable outlet claims that Vini’s entourage demands a salary of around €30 million to extend his contract.
That would be the highest-ever salary ever paid to a player at Real Madrid and equal to what the club paid Cristiano Ronaldo in his last contract before selling him to Juventus.
Real Madrid fans online are strongly against the idea of placing 24-year-old Vini on such wages.
