Madridista reveals why VAR was wrong to judge Endrick offside for Vini Jr’s goal vs Athletic Bilbao – uses two pictures
Vinicius Jr was unfortunate to see his goal against Athletic Bilbao ruled out because of a controversial offside call on Endrick.
The VAR team noticed that Endrick was just slightly offside during the build-up play and tried to influence the play before Vini scored.
However, a Real Madrid fan has now given evidence that the VAR team actually messed up with their calculations for this entire ordeal.
The Madridsta, XGondowan, stated on Reddit: “This will go unnoticed as always but VAR messed up big time on Endrick’s “offside”. Ball was ahead from his position, so it ISN’T an OFFSIDE.”
It’s argued that the ball was actually ahead of Endrick’s position and already in play when the Brazilian forward stepped into an offside area.
Fortunately for Real Madrid, this dubious call would not come back to haunt them in this big game as Fede Valverde’s huge winner sealed the three points.
