Kylian Mbappe will become Real Madrid’s main penalty taker
Real Madrid have frowned at Vinicius Jr. for his social media activity in the aftermath of Real Madrid’s 2-1 home defeat at the hands of Valencia.
Immediately after the game, Vinicius took to Instagram to celebrate equalling Ronaldo Nazario’s goal record at Real Madrid. He ended the post by saying it was a bad day for the team.
The feeling at Real Madrid was that “It’s not the day or the time” to make such posts.
Vinicius deleted the post hours after posting it on his page.
Meanwhile, Jude Bellingham and Kylian Mbappe also posted on Instagram, criticizing the team’s performance.
Kylian Mbappe will become Real Madrid’s main penalty taker.
According to Marca, the head coach of the Madrid team, Carlo Ancelotti, has decided to appoint the Frenchman as the regular penalty taker.
Mbappe will take penalties for Real Madrid starting from the match against Arsenal in the Champions League quarterfinals.
This season, Real Madrid have missed 5 penalties across all competitions, which is the team’s worst record since at least the 2013/14 season. In Saturday’s La Liga match against Valencia (1–2), Vinicius Junior failed to score from the spot — Giorgi Mamardashvili saved the Brazilian’s shot with his foot.
