When a Pittie named Bunny was still just a baby, he was infected with tetanus, a rare and potentially deadly infection. His condition was so severe that his entire body became completely rigid, to the point where he could no longer walk or even move at all.
Due to how sick he was, his human caregiver was forced to deliver it. Everyone thought the only possible solution was to sacrifice Bunny. But Thompson was not ready to give up. She went far beyond the normal tasks of a veterinarian by taking Bunny home with her.
“I decided that I was going to be a crazy person and do everything I can to try to survive,” he said.

Bunny had no idea what was happening to him or why he had so much pain. Thompson could say by his eyes that he was absolutely terrified. But although Bunny was scared, deep down, she was still a happy and affectionate puppy.
“It would enter and its tail would simply start working,” said Thompson.

After that, Bunny did not take long to recover completely. Very soon, I was running and bouncing on the walls, like any other puppy.
While Thompson did not take Bunny with the intention of adopting her, after being there for her through each step of her healing process and witnessing her courage, she simply could not say goodbye.

Now, years have passed since Thompson and his family decided to adopt Bunny. During those years, Bunny has shown that he has not only recovered, but is actually thriving.
Some of Bunny’s favorite activities include running, swimming and rowing. His mother has even caught jumping to the kitchen table.

When Thompson met Bunny, it would have been impossible to imagine that he could ever do one of those things. But thanks to the unwavering dedication of Thompson, Bunny enjoys a happy and happy life.
