Valverde 7.5, Tchouameni 5: Rating Real Madrid players in Espanyol defeat

Federico Valverde – 7
The Uruguayan was one of the most well-rounded players on the pitch, often stepping in to cover for the defence.
A true workhorse for the team.

Vinicius Jr – 7
Vini scored a beautiful first-half goal that was controversially ruled out. Had a few more good chances before halftime but struggled in the second. Still was the best attacker on the field.

Aurelien Tchouameni – 5
Not much to praise for the Frenchman here. His tracking back was…non-existent. It’s high time Carlo Ancelotti realises that playing him in the heart of defence just isn’t working.

Other players’ ratings: Courtois 6, Vazquez 5, Rudiger n/a, Fran 7, Ceballos 6.5, Rodrygo 6, Mbappe 6, Bellingham 7, Asencio 7, Modric 6, Brahim n/a.
