It’s always great when animals make unexpected friends. In some ways it’s more unique and unexpected than seeing two dogs become best friends, for example.
This unexpected friendship that we will tell you about below, arose between a Golden retriever and a baby koala , in unimaginable circumstances.
He saw the dog lying on the porch of the house. Instantly, he noticed that he was not alone and called his wife, who was just waking up. When Kerry came down and saw what her partner was pointing out, she must have thought she was still dreaming!
At first Kerry didn’t know what her husband was talking about . Then, half asleep and awake, she saw this little koala curled up on top of Asha, where he was kept warm and safe from danger . She just laughed slightly nervously.
Poor Asha didn’t know what to think, she kept looking at her masters with an expression of confusion and bewilderment . It seemed that deep down she felt a little guilty when her masters came out to the porch to find out what was happening. His expression was very funny.
Furthermore, if a predator had found little Joey (the name they gave the koala) before the lovely Asha, this story might not have a happy ending .
Kerry and her husband set out to take care of the koala, but logically separating him from Asha was going to be a very difficult task. Little Joey was reluctant to leave his protector’s back.
«I think I would have been happy sleeping there all day. Maybe it reminded him of his mother’s bag. “It was truly something incredible to see and so uniquely Australian ,” he added.
Finally, they managed to wrap it in a blanket to get it off of Asha and the little animal immediately felt protected and at ease .
They took the koala to a veterinarian , from where he was transferred to a rehabilitation center.
Although the events happened at the beginning of September , now the images have gone viral again due to everything that is happening in Australia, especially with marsupials, which are seeing their habitat taken away from them due to the terrible forest fires. And there are thousands who have paid with their lives.
