The furry dog has been seen living in a miserable cardboard box on the corner of a street in Miami. Apparently, his owner just left him there last Sunday. And the innocent little dog has had to endure drizzle and cold.
The situation may look sad or harsh but he is believed to be in the right place. People living around 10th Avenue and North River Drive believe it takes a community to save the dog.
Then someone from the neighborhood put a box up and the dog got in. Sunday night was a very cold night. The neighbors tried to get the dog into their house, but when they got close, the dog would growl at them or run away, so they decided to just put more blankets in the box.
Neighbors have already contacted dog rescuers but no one has called back, except for Lisa Fleming, who is a self-employed dog rescuer. The bad thing is that she is 100 km away in Naples, Florida, but she is eager to help.
After neighbors had rallied because they were so touched by this little dog’s case, a loving family finally offered to give him a new forever home. The little dog was renamed Joey and we hope he never has the misfortune of returning to the cold streets again.
