‘Another person was there and they kind of nudged her a little bit to see if she would walk off the road or fly away,’ Miller told The Dodo. The eagle ‘spread her wings open and was not going to go anywhere.’

Miller held on to the bird while he called 911 and waited for rescuers from Tri-State Bird Rescue & Research, Inc.

‘It was an amazing feeling, to be able to pick up a bald eagle,’ Miller told Lancaster Online. ‘It’s a massive creature you never imagine being able to hold in your hands or being able to help out.’

It took about 45 minutes for help to arrive after Miller called 911. During that time, Miller said that he tried to keep the bird calm and reassure her that she was safe.
