Surprisingly Maneuverable
With all the talk about the Warthog’s impressive GAU-8/A Avenger, we can sometimes forget how maneuverable this aircraft is. Just ask the pilot who did a small aerobatic routine in this video!
A-10s can offer incredible maneuverability at low speeds and altitudes. This capability is very useful, especially in combat. If a Warthog was to fire its guns, it could turn around and be in a position again for another round within thirty seconds.
Even though Warthogs can do a lot of aerobatic maneuvers, the A-10C Tech Order lists a few prohibited and restricted maneuvers. Moves like intentional spins and zero or negative g maneuvers lasting for more than ten seconds are all prohibited.
