The dominant male lion of the pride becomes enraged as a young lion attempts to claim its share of food in the Singita wildlife reserve in South Africa.
The leading male lion charges swiftly towards the prey they just caught to claim its share and teach a lesson to the young lion (on the left) planning to snatch its portion.
The leader lion pounces on a cub within the pride, making the rest of them cautious.
The young lion’s greediness earns it a lesson from the pride leader.

Teaching the young lion a lesson is also a way for the pride leader to assert its ultimate authority within the pride
“It took us a while to calm down after witnessing this scene,” Mr. Renshaw said.
The pride leader used its paw to slap the young lion’s face.
Other members of the pride were clearly eager to enjoy the freshly caught prey, but they still had to wait for the pride leader to eat its share first.
